Marie has been an occupational therapist for over 23 years, working in New Zealand and Australia, in both the private and public sectors.
Marie has worked in various settings, from acute hospitals to community rehabilitation. Her passion is working in the community with adults in their homes to enable them to achieve their goals while improving their quality of life.
Marie is passionate about working alongside clients and their families. She has particular experience supporting clients who have neurological conditions such as:
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Motor Neuron Disease
- Acquired Brain Injuries
Marie is well versed in:
- Functional assessments
- Home modifications
- Equipment and wheelchair prescription
- Life skills training
Marie aims to use a client-centred holistic approach to her practice, which focuses on client wellbeing, enabling their function and meaningful engagement in life.
Marie trained as an Occupational Therapist in New Zealand at Otago Polytechnic, graduating in 2001 with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. She also has a Post Graduate Certificate in Health Sciences (Clinical Rehabilitation).
Marie is based in Brisbane South and accepts referrals in and around this area.
