Adaptability Therapy offers a range of group programs throughout the year. The groups are developed and run by our multi-disciplinary team of therapists. Depending on the group, that could include Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and Physiotherapists. Some groups are run during school holidays, and others run throughout term time. Groups are open to everyone, including current clients of Adaptability Therapy, those on our waitlist and children and young people who are not accessing other services with us. A therapist reviews group participants prior to the group starting to ensure the group is appropriate and will be beneficial for the participant. Groups are open to private and NDIS clients, and run at our Coorparoo and Graceville clinic locations. Parking is available on-site at both locations. If you’re interested in hearing more about our groups, and being the first to know when new groups are released and dates announced, subscribe to our groups mailing list. Below you’ll find out more about some of our popular groups. Creative Kids is our very popular small group therapy program that runs during the school holidays. It is a great opportunity for your child to have fun with new friends as they plan and create, whilst developing their fine motor skills, social skills, attention, and turn-taking. The activities are developed and facilitated by an occupational therapist and supported by an allied health assistant. This school holidays we will be creating some Easter inspired art and crafts! Priced at $150 per child, with a maximum of 6 children. This group is open to both NDIS and private clients. Fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable. Note: if your child currently sees one of our therapists, you may be able to swap out one of your upcoming sessions for a group session to help with funding. Ask your child's therapist at their next session or send us an email to find out more. Coorparoo Register your interest here to get updates on this group. Talking with Tech is designed to provide children who are AAC users the opportunity to enhance their communication skills in a supported group environment. We encourage parents to come along and watch the AAC being used in action too! Priced at $180 per child, with a maximum of 6 children. This group is open to both NDIS and private clients. Fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable. Note: if your child currently sees one of our therapists, you may be able to swap out one of your upcoming sessions for a group session to help with funding. Your child may use key word sign, visual boards, or have their own dedicated device like a PODD book, Proloquo2Go, LAMP words for life, or TD Snap to name a few. If your child has a dedicated device, please bring it along to the group. If they don’t have a device yet, but are in the process of trialing systems to find the right fit – please advise administration upon booking, so our therapists can have the correct AAC options available on the day for your child to engage in the group.
