Paediatric Occupational Therapist
Abbey is a passionate and friendly therapist who loves working with children to help them reach their potential. She is a family-centred therapist, who enjoys working closely with a child’s family unit.
Abbey has been working with children in community-based roles since graduating from university, and has particular experience working with children with:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Developmental delays
- Social skills difficulties
- Emotional regulation challenges
- Handwriting challenges
Abbey takes a play-based approach to therapy and believes in building a strong relationship with a child and their family throughout therapy. Abbey takes time to listen to her clients’ concerns and aims to make therapy enjoyable and engaging, through incorporating the child’s interests. Abbey seeks to see the strengths in every child and inspire hope throughout a child’s journey. Abbey generally sees clients aged 2-16.
In her spare time, Abbey loves playing bass guitar in a semi-professional guitar ensemble. She is also a little Harry Potter-obsessed.
Abbey is based in Central Brisbane and accepts referrals in and around this area.
