Deputy Lead Occupational Therapist & Mental Health Team Lead
Jane enjoys working with adults and young adults, providing comprehensive home and living assessments and functional capacity assessments.
Having worked in community and specialist services in New Zealand and Australia over the past 25+ years, Jane is an Occupational Therapist with wide experience across a range of clinical areas including:
- Specialist mental health
- Ealy psychosis/psychotic disorders/schizophrenia
- Low mood
- Anxiety
- Neurological rehab (not including high physical disability)
- Pain management
- Co-existing conditions (i.e., mental health concerns, pain, ABI, intellectual disability)
Jane is one of those rare therapists who really enjoys creating clinical reports, and loves the opportunity to get to understand people and represent their challenges and support needs in a comprehensive document.
She enjoys getting to know and work with people of all ages and is passionate about enabling people to achieve their goals. Thinking creatively to find a way through challenges is one of the things Jane enjoys most about being an OT.
Jane has held management roles in higher education and the health sector and loves mentoring and supervising students. Access to education and having equitable and inclusive opportunities for everyone are key values for Jane, who works in a client-centred and collaborative way.
Jane trained as an Occupational Therapist in New Zealand at Otago Polytechnic, graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy.
Jane is based in Brisbane and also accepts referrals for assessments nationally via telehealth.
